Simple online booking: how Slotsy works

"Simple" is the word every booking system uses about itself. I wanted it measured, not claimed: on 27 September 2026 I booked as a client in six booking systems and counted screens and fields, and on 2 October 2026 I registered a brand-new salon on the live slotsy.io with a stopwatch.

Short answer. Slotsy is simple online booking: clients book without an account and pay online or at the venue, and you set up your schedule and share the link in under 15 minutes. Free for one person. Measured on 2.10.2026: from the empty registration form to a page where a client can book took about 6.5 minutes (about 3 minutes for the form and 3 min 35 s for the address, one service and opening hours). We write "under 15 minutes" to leave room for photos, a description and a second service. A client books from a service link in 3 screens (date, time, details with confirmation) and from the studio page in 4, types 4 fields (first name, last name, phone, email), and needs no account, password or app. Of the six systems checked on 27.09.2026, three book without an account: Slotsy, Nakiedy and Bookero. Free plan: free for one person, no card.

Create a Free account in Slotsy, set your opening hours and one service, and send the link to one client today. Free for one person, no card, and it works alongside what you use now.

How a client books

From a link to one service, a client goes through 3 screens:

  1. Date. A calendar with dots: green means there are places, amber means few, red means full.
  2. Time. Taken hours are crossed out, and for group classes the number of places left is shown. Here the client also picks how to pay, if online payment is on or they have a pass.
  3. Details and confirmation. First name, last name, phone, email and an optional note. Above the button are the summary and your cancellation rule in one sentence.

From the studio page the path is 4 screens and 5 taps: studio page, date, time, confirmation. I measured this on 2.10.2026 as a logged-in client; a guest also types the 4 fields.

The client creates no account, invents no password and installs no app. A confirmation and a link to reschedule or cancel arrive by email, and cancelling or rescheduling works from that link without logging in. An account appears only if the client wants to log in, also without a password: with a one-time link from email or through Google. The booking page is in Polish, Ukrainian and English.

For you that means fewer "is there anything on Saturday?" messages, and a client who cannot come clicks the link in the email instead of writing at midnight. The comparison of 6 systems: simple online booking without an account. The client's side in the help centre: how booking works.

Six systems, counted on 27.09.2026

System (where counted)Screens to confirmationFieldsAccount
Slotsy — pilates studio in Kraków, link to a service34: first name, last name, phone, emailno
Nakiedy — men's barber in Pabianice33: full name, email, phone, plus a consentno
Bookero — demo page test.bookero.pl23: full name, email, phone, plus 2 consentsno
Fresha — massage salon in Kraków4 to the barrier "Log in or sign up"phone + SMS code or email / Google / Apple, then account detailsyes
SimplyBook.me — Beauty demo5 to the barrier "Sign Up And Continue"email + password or Google / Facebookyes, in this demo configuration
Booksy — barbershop in Warsaw, logged-in account3, no fields because the data is in the account—yes (per Booksy help: sign-up with SMS code)

Nakiedy and Bookero also book without an account and in a similar number of screens; Bookero has one screen fewer. Slotsy asks for one field more than those two (last name separately). So pick Slotsy if, on top of booking without an account, you want a page in three languages and a link straight to one service.

How a salon starts

Measured on 2.10.2026 on the live slotsy.io, with a new salon called "Test — pomiar startu":

StepTime
Registration form (company name, page address, category; first name, last name, email, password, terms)about 3 min (my estimate)
Address (location)1 min 18 s
One service: name, 60 min, price36 s
Opening hours (Monday and Tuesday 09:00–18:00)1 min 29 s
From submitting the form to a page where one can book3 min 35 s
Total with the formabout 6.5 min

You give no card at registration. The Free plan is 1 person, 1 location and no booking limit.

After registration the dashboard shows the card "When do you work?" with Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00 already filled in: change what differs for you and save. Without opening hours the client sees no free time.

Those 15 minutes do not include Stripe for card and BLIK (it needs real company data and Stripe's verification), photos and a page description, or more staff, since Free is 1 person. Clients can book from day one, and you take the money on site. The whole start step by step: online schedule in 15 minutes and registration.

Where the link goes

The "Share" button in the top right of any admin page gives a link to the whole page, to one service or to one staff member, each with a QR code (PNG or SVG).

The short address of the whole page, slotsy.io/place/your-name, goes into your Instagram bio, the Facebook Page button and your Google Business Profile. A service link suits Stories and messages, and the QR code suits the door and a business card. More: booking link for Instagram, Facebook and Google and sharing the booking page.

How the client pays

Until Stripe is connected, the client sees only "Pay on site", and Slotsy takes nothing from payments on site.

With Stripe connected, card, BLIK and Przelewy24 go to the studio's own Stripe account. Slotsy never holds the money and takes its platform fee at the moment of payment: Free 2%, Start 1%, Team 0.5%, Business 0.3%. Example: a 100 zł visit paid by BLIK on Free costs the salon 4.60 zł (Stripe 1.6% + 1 zł = 2.60 zł, Slotsy 2% = 2.00 zł), and on site it costs 0. Stripe prices checked 7.10.2026.

The studio decides the mode: client's choice (the default), online only or on site only. Since 7.10.2026 each service can have its own mode in the service form, in the "Payment" section: "As the studio", "Online only", "On site only", "Client's choice". A long colouring can be online only, while a haircut stays on site. More: online payment or on site and BLIK and cards online without a terminal.

What Slotsy does not do

  • Prepaying part of the price: online payment is the full price of the service.
  • An automatic charge of a saved card after a no-show.
  • Online payment in the booking widget on your own website: the widget sends the client to finish on the studio page, keeping the chosen time.
  • SMS reminders on the Free plan: SMS reminders are on paid plans (Start: 70 credits per month). On Free reminders go by email, and to clients who connected the bot also in Telegram, which works on Free too.
  • A team on the Free plan: Free covers one person, and a team needs Start (up to 5), Team (up to 10) or Business (up to 20).

If you need part of the price paid in advance or a card charge after a no-show, Slotsy does not do it today. If you need clients to book themselves without an account and you start today, it does.
