How to take BLIK and card payments online without a terminal: Stripe for salons and studios in Poland (2026)

A card terminal in the salon solves one problem: the client pays after the visit. It does not solve the other: the client who never turns up pays nothing. Taking payment online at the moment of booking solves both — and needs no device, no acquiring contract and no monthly rental. What it needs is a Stripe account attached to your booking page. Below is everything worth knowing before you open one.

Fees and rules were checked on 26 September 2026 at stripe.com/pl/pricing and in Stripe's documentation for BLIK, Przelewy24 and payouts.

Short answer. You need a registered business (a Polish sole proprietorship, JDG, or a company), a NIP tax number, a Polish bank account and an identity document. Signing up to Stripe through Slotsy takes 2–5 minutes; verification takes up to a few days. Clients pay by BLIK (1.6% + 1 zł), card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (1.5% + 1 zł) or Przelewy24 (1.9% + 1 zł). The money goes to your Stripe account and from there to your bank: the first payout after about 7 days, then every 3 business days, free of charge. Refunds are one click in the Slotsy admin. For hairdressing and beauty services the fiscal cash register is mandatory whatever the payment method.

The three methods a client sees

Once Stripe is connected, a client on your booking page sees up to three options. Each works differently and settles differently.

Two things to take from the table. BLIK is the fastest and the most chosen — most clients in Poland approve it in a few seconds. Przelewy24 has no chargebacks, but it is the most expensive and the slowest to settle; for a salon that already has BLIK and cards it adds little.

What to prepare before signing up

Stripe is a payment institution and has to know whom it pays. When you open the account it asks for:

  1. Business details: NIP, legal form (JDG or company), registered address. For companies, the KRS number and the people holding 25% or more.
  2. A person: name, date of birth and an identity document of the owner or representative. Sometimes a photo of the document.
  3. A bank account: a Polish IBAN in złoty for payouts.
  4. A website: the address where the client sees what they are buying. Your Slotsy booking page will do.
  5. A description of the business: one sentence, for instance "beauty services, payment for visits and passes".

For BLIK and cards that is enough. If you also want Przelewy24, Stripe additionally checks that the site shows the business address, NIP, registration number, refund rules, terms and a privacy policy — those are the P24 operator's conditions, not Stripe's. Without them you get BLIK and cards, and P24 stays off.

Connecting in Slotsy, step by step

  1. In the admin: Settings → Payment Processors → Stripe → Connect.
  2. Stripe opens its form: a new account or sign-in to an existing one. You review the permissions Slotsy asks for (creating payments and refunds on your behalf, reading transactions) and click Authorize.
  3. You are back in Slotsy with the account connected. If Stripe still needs documents, you see it in the connection status and in the Stripe dashboard.
  4. Once verified, the Card payments switch turns itself on. Next to it you switch on BLIK and, if you want, Przelewy24. Both ride the same Stripe account — no separate keys or contracts.
  5. A payment step appears on your booking page. If you also leave Pay on site on, the client chooses.

The full walkthrough with screens is in the help centre: Stripe Connect and Payment processors. If you already have a Stripe account from another shop, connecting takes under a minute.

What stays in your pocket

Stripe's fee is a percentage plus 1 zł per transaction. That złoty matters more than the percentage: on small amounts it makes online payment expensive, on large ones it disappears. On top comes Slotsy's fee by plan: 2% on Free, 1% on Start, 0.5% on Team, 0.3% on Business.

ServiceStripe fee (BLIK)Slotsy fee (Start, 1%)You keepTotal cost
Haircut 30 zł0.48 + 1.00 = 1.48 zł0.30 zł28.22 zł5.9%
Treatment 100 zł1.60 + 1.00 = 2.60 zł1.00 zł96.40 zł3.6%
Colour 250 zł4.00 + 1.00 = 5.00 zł2.50 zł242.50 zł3.0%
Pass 450 zł7.20 + 1.00 = 8.20 zł4.50 zł437.30 zł2.8%

The practical conclusion: take online what hurts when the client does not come — treatments from a few dozen złoty up, passes, packages. Leave the thirty-złoty services to payment on site. In Slotsy both can run at once: the client sees online payment and "on site" and chooses.

When the money reaches your account

A client's payment lands first on your Stripe balance and only from there in your bank account.

  • The first payout — Stripe schedules it for about 7 days after the first payment; that is the standard period for a new account.
  • After that — in Poland, by default every 3 business days, automatically and free. A Monday payment is in the bank on Thursday.
  • The schedule can be changed in the Stripe dashboard to weekly or monthly — handy for bookkeeping, as there are fewer transfers.
  • Przelewy24 reaches the Stripe balance up to 2 business days later than BLIK and cards.
  • Stripe does not offer instant payouts in Poland.

The Slotsy admin shows your balance, funds in transit and the date of the next payout without signing in to Stripe.

Refunds and disputes

You refund in Slotsy: open the payment, Refund, full or partial, confirm. The money comes off your Stripe balance. BLIK returns it to the client immediately or within hours, a card within a few days, Przelewy24 within 3 business days and only within 180 days of the payment.

Two costs worth knowing before the first refund:

  • The Slotsy fee is not returned. If you refund the whole amount, our percentage of that payment stays with us — it is in the Terms you accept at sign-up. A partial refund is cheaper than a full one followed by a new payment.
  • A dispute costs 90 zł. If a client contests a card payment with their bank, Stripe charges a fee for the dispute itself, whatever the outcome. You submit your evidence (booking confirmation, correspondence, cancellation rules) in the Stripe dashboard. For BLIK you have 12 days. Przelewy24 has no disputes at all.

The best protection against disputes is a clear cancellation policy visible before payment — in Slotsy you set it once and the client confirms it with every booking.

The fiscal register and taxes

Paying online does not remove the cash-register duty by itself. The current regulation of the Minister of Finance of 17 December 2024 says two things:

  • Hairdressing, beauty and cosmetology services must be recorded on a fiscal register regardless of turnover or payment method. If you run a salon, a transfer, BLIK or a card changes nothing — a receipt has to be issued.
  • Other services (pilates classes, yoga, tutoring, for instance) may use the exemption for payments made entirely through a bank or payment institution, provided the records show unambiguously what each payment was for. A Stripe payout is aggregated, so the evidence is the payment report from Slotsy or Stripe, not the transfer itself.

Stripe issues a monthly invoice for its fees — it is in the Stripe dashboard and your accountant will ask for it. If you are not sure which group your service falls into, one question to your accounting office saves a conversation with the tax office.

Five mistakes we see most often

  1. Unfinished verification. The account works, payments come in, but payouts wait because Stripe wants a document. Check the status a week after connecting.
  2. BLIK not switched on. Cards work as soon as verification completes; BLIK has to be switched on in Slotsy, and sometimes the blik_payments capability requested in the Stripe dashboard.
  3. Everything online, including 25 zł. A 6–7% cost on small services. Set them to "pay on site".
  4. No cancellation policy before payment. Without one every refund is an argument and every dispute is lost.
  5. Daily payouts with manual bookkeeping. Dozens of transfers a month are hard to reconcile. A weekly schedule fixes it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a business to take BLIK through Stripe? Yes. Stripe opens accounts for businesses and companies, not private individuals. A JDG is enough.

Does the client need a Slotsy or Stripe account? No. They pay as in any shop: pick a method, confirm at the bank, return to the page with the booking confirmation.

What does the client see on their statement? Your salon's name, not Slotsy — the payment goes to your Stripe account, so your name is the payee.

How long does a BLIK refund take? Usually immediately, at most a few hours, depending on the client's bank.

Does Stripe charge a monthly fee? No. You pay only the percentage and 1 zł per transaction; no transactions, no cost. Slotsy's fee is likewise charged only on payments, and the Free plan has no subscription.

What about Apple Pay and Google Pay? They count as card payments: the same 1.5% + 1 zł fee, the same Stripe account, nothing extra to switch on.
