Online booking for a yoga teacher: classes and passes

On 6 November 2026 I read Booksy's help, its price list and Slotsy's own help to answer one question: can a yoga teacher run sign-ups for classes with a place limit, where clients book themselves, without messages on Instagram. In Kraków, the studio where Slotsy started runs group Pilates classes, so I know this model up close: a fixed weekly timetable, a limited number of mats, a pass.

Short answer. In Slotsy you set up yoga classes with an instructor, a number of places and a room for each day of the week, and clients sign up for a free place themselves and pay online or with a visit pass. The Free plan costs 0 zł for one person, with no booking limit; on online payments Slotsy takes 2% plus the Stripe fee (1.5% + 1 zł for an EEA card). In Booksy's help (6.11.2026) a group is a "Group Booking" for 2–10 people, created by the salon — clients do not sign up for it themselves; a Booksy subscription is 145 zł net per month.

Set up your first week of classes in 15 minutes: the Free plan costs 0 zł for one person, needs no card and works next to what you use now.

What a yoga teacher needs from sign-ups

  • A fixed weekly timetable that repeats, so you do not enter it again every week.
  • A limit of places on mats: when the room is full, nobody else signs up.
  • A pass, so a client buys visits once instead of paying for each class separately.
  • Cancellations without a message on Instagram: the client cancels in the system, and the rules are clear to both sides.
  • Payment in advance, so a place on a mat does not stay empty.

How to set it up in Slotsy

The result comes last: the client sees a class with the instructor's name and the number of free places. The way there:

  1. Add a service, for example "Hatha 60 min".
  2. Open Schedules → Service Schedules and choose that service.
  3. Go to the weekly settings and add a class row for each day.
  4. In the row set Instructor, Places and Room (the Room field appears when the location has rooms).

A row with an instructor is a separate class for the client: the instructor's name, its own duration and its own number of places. A one-off workshop on another day goes in the Exceptions tab as Classes with an instructor, with places and a room. Each step is described in the help article on service schedules.

What the client sees

In the studio's timetable the client has the buttons From today, Next week and In 2 weeks, and day columns with the number of classes. A class card shows the time, the full name, the instructor, the room and "● N places" or No places left. The filters are All classes (types are the studio's categories), All halls and Only with free places. Clicking a card opens the booking with the class, instructor, day and time already chosen.

The studio picks the look of the timetable in the Timetable look setting: Day columns or a time grid. Details from the client's side: help article on the timetable. More about group sign-ups in general is in my article Online sign-ups for group classes.

A pass for visits

A Slotsy pass is a package of visits with an expiry date, paid once. It is not a subscription. You create a pass plan in Memberships → Plans → New Plan and set:

FieldWhat it means
Number of visitsHow many entries the package has
Validity (days)1 to 730 days, counted from the first class, not from the day of purchase
Max active bookings per passOptional

The client buys the pass together with the first class or separately. In the studio you sell it under Memberships → Sell Membership. A tip from the help: 8 visits need at least 45 days of validity for someone who comes once a week. Validity counted from the first class means the client does not lose days before starting to practise. More: pass plans and a client buying a pass.

Cancellations and returned visits

There is one rule, and it applies to visits from a pass:

  • The client cancels earlier than the set window: the visit returns to the pass.
  • The client cancels inside the window or does not show up: the visit is used up.
  • You cancel: the visit always returns.

You set the window in the field Return a visit when cancelled earlier than. The options are always, 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours, or 7 days; the default is 24 hours. A service can have its own cancellation deadline; for a class with its own rule, a pass visit returns by that class's rule. So you do not have to write to anyone "cancelled too late, the visit is gone": it follows from the setting. The rules are described in the help article on returned visits.

Stripe charges 1.5% + 1 zł for standard EEA cards; BLIK is 1.6% + 1 zł. Booksy's price list also shows "Booksy Pay", free until 30.06.2027, without explaining how it differs from mobile payments: until that date the Booksy column may be lower still.

A month for one teacher, everything paid online: 4 passes at 360 zł and 10 single entries at 50 zł, 1,940 zł of sales in total.

The Booksy subscription is net; with 23% VAT it is 178.35 zł gross. On a single payment Booksy takes less than Slotsy Free, so on payment fees alone Booksy wins. Slotsy wins on the subscription. With entries at 50 zł, Booksy only becomes cheaper than Slotsy Free above about 110 online payments a month, roughly 5,500 zł of sales. If you already pay Booksy for a salon and do not run group classes, stay with Booksy. A broader price comparison: How much Booksy costs.

What you can do in Booksy

In Booksy's help, in the article "Can I schedule group bookings?", a group is a Group Booking for 2–10 people, created by the business from the calendar. The quote: "your clients can't make group bookings themselves in the Booksy for Customers app". The whole group cannot be checked out at once, and there is no no-show protection for group bookings. Booksy's price list includes "Karnety i pakiety" in the subscription.

I did not find in Booksy's help a class with a place limit that clients book themselves. If you teach groups that people sign up for themselves, Slotsy does it from day one. If you mostly teach individual sessions, Booksy will handle those too.

Frequently asked questions

Can a client sign up for a yoga class with a place limit on their own? In Slotsy yes: they see the class with the instructor and the number of free places and sign up without a phone call. In Booksy's help (6.11.2026) a group is a Group Booking for 2–10 people, created by the salon.

How much does Slotsy cost for one teacher? The Free plan: 0 zł, one person, no booking limit; on online payments 2% plus the Stripe fee (1.5% + 1 zł for an EEA card).

When does a pass's validity start counting? From the first class, not from the day of purchase; in Slotsy you set validity from 1 to 730 days.

What if a client cancels a class booked with a pass? Earlier than the set window (24 hours by default), the visit returns to the pass in Slotsy; later, or on a no-show, it is used up. If you cancel, the visit always returns.

Can I add a one-off workshop outside the usual week? Yes, in Slotsy, in the Exceptions tab you add Classes with an instructor for the chosen day, with places and a room.
