Online sign-up for group classes: how it works in Slotsy
On 1 October 2026 I went through the client path for a group pilates class, at the studio in Krakow where Slotsy started: from the studio page, through picking a day and time, to the screen with contact details and payment. I did not confirm the booking; I stopped at the last screen.
Short answer. In Slotsy a client books a group class in four screens: the studio page, the day, the time with the number of places left ("8 left"), and details with payment. A single visit needs no account; a visit pass is bought with the first booking or on its own, and its period starts with the first class. The studio sees every class on the calendar before anyone books it ("0 of 8"), and the class card lists participants marked by who paid with a pass. To start: the Free plan, 0 zł.

The client's four screens
- The studio page. Under the group class: a single visit at 65 zł with a "Book" button, and below it an "8 visits" pass for 450 zł (56.25 zł per visit) with a "Buy" button.
- The day. A month calendar; days with classes carry a coloured dot, legend Available / Few places / Full. Below the calendar, "How do you want to pay?": a single visit at 65 zł or the 8-visit pass at 450 zł.
- The time. The class time, with the number of places left under it: "10:00, 8 left". The payment choice stays visible above.
- Details and payment. A summary (class, date, time, price), the cancellation rule (in this studio, "free cancellation up to 12 hours before the start", that studio's own setting, not a default), the payment methods this studio turned on (card, BLIK, Przelewy24), first name, last name, email, phone (prefilled, because I was signed in), an optional note, a tick to accept the cancellation rules, and a "Confirm booking" button. I stopped there.
| Screen | What the client sees | What the studio set up |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Studio page | Single-visit price and pass price side by side | Service price and pass plan |
| 2. Day | Day colour: green "Available", amber "Few places", red "Full" | Service Schedules: days and class sessions |
| 3. Time | Places left under the time, e.g. "8 left" | Max bookings per slot, e.g. 8 |
| 4. Details and payment | A form with no account: name, phone, email | Cancellation rules and payment methods |
A single visit works with no account: just a first name, last name, phone and email, the same as in an ordinary booking without an account. The places under a class come from the service's Max bookings per slot setting: a slot disappears from the booking page once it fills up. Class days and times are set in the Service Schedules: a service can have two separate rows of classes in a week, and exceptions for single dates.
The pass: bought with a booking or on its own
A pass is a pack of visits paid for once, for example 8 visits. A client buys it two ways.
| With a booking | On its own | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | Picks the class, chooses the pass instead of the single price | A "Buy without booking a session" button |
| Sign-in | An email link, no password | No sign-in |
| The confirmation shows | Which pass, how many classes, how long it runs, which class it starts with, which address it is issued to | n/a |
| When the period starts | With the first class | With the first class; the purchase can carry a date by which it must be started |
At each later booking the client picks the pass as payment, and one visit comes off at once. On her pass page, in her account, she sees "Classes (n)": "3 of 4 left", the validity period, and classes grouped into Booked, Attended and Written off by the studio, each one opening its booking. How to buy a pass, a client's pass page.
What the studio sees
On the studio calendar every class is one block before anyone books it: a grey dashed block "Pilates, 0 of 8, [instructor]" for an empty class, blue "3 of 8" once someone has booked, and "Full" once places run out. The "Free classes" box hides empty blocks from view.
Clicking a block opens the class card: date, time, instructor, "Participants: 3 of 8", and a list marking each person "pass" or "Unpaid". Clicking a name opens that booking, and "Add participant" opens a new booking with the service, instructor and time already filled in.
When the front desk books a client with a pass, the field "Spend a class from the pass 'X', N of M left" is ticked by default; unticking it marks a free trial visit. Without a pass, the booking is "Unpaid"; it can be paid later with "Pay with the pass 'X'". Paid bookings carry a pass icon, unpaid ones a red dot; there is no "paid in cash" mark. Class bookings.
Cancelling and returning a visit
A cancellation returns the visit under the studio's visit return rules; a late cancellation or a no-show spends it, though the studio can return it by hand. The studio sets its own cancellation window: no limit, or 1 to 48 hours, 24 hours by default. In the studio from the walk-through it was 12 hours before the class started, that studio's own setting, not the default. Visit return rules, cancellation rules.
Setting it up
- A service with places: set Max bookings per slot, e.g. 8.
- Service schedule: class days and sessions; two rows mean two separate classes, with exceptions for single dates. Service Schedules
- A pass plan: the pack of visits and its price.
- Online payments, if you want to take card, BLIK or Przelewy24 on the booking screen.
- Cancellation and visit return rules. Cancellation rules, visit return rules
- Share the class link with clients, for example under a post about open places.
What Slotsy does not have
Slotsy has one type of pass: a pack of visits with a validity period. There is no time-based pass (an unlimited monthly pass, for example) and no gift voucher for an amount; Booksy has had time passes, packages and vouchers since 2019. If your studio sells a monthly unlimited pass, Slotsy does not do that today. Slotsy vs Booksy.
Frequently asked questions
Does the client need an account? Not for a single visit: a first name, last name, phone and email are enough. Signing in by an email link is only needed to buy a pass.
How does the client see how many places are left? In the calendar colours, under each time (e.g. "8 left") and on the class page (e.g. "7 of 10 left").
Can I book a client from the front desk and spend a visit from her pass? Yes. The "Spend a class from the pass" field is ticked by default; untick it for a free trial visit.
What happens if the client cancels? The visit returns under the studio's visit return rules, unless the cancellation is late or the client did not show up, in which case the visit is spent, though the studio can return it by hand.
When does a pass start counting? With the first class, not the day of purchase.
Does Slotsy have an unlimited monthly pass? No. There is only one type of pass: a pack of visits with a validity period.
