Closures let you block off dates when your business is closed — holidays, renovations, or company vacations.

Overview

A closure applies to the entire company and overrides regular working hours. During a closure, no time slots are available for booking. Use closures for one-off events instead of changing your weekly company hours.

Creating a Closure

  1. Go to Settings > Closures
  2. Click Add Closure
  3. Fill in the details:
FieldDescription
NameDescriptive name (e.g., "Christmas Holiday")
Start DateFirst day of the closure
End DateLast day of the closure (inclusive)
RecurringRepeat annually on the same dates
  1. Click Save

The closure appears in the list and immediately affects availability.

Use Cases

Common reasons to create closures:

  • Public holidays — Christmas, New Year, Easter, Independence Day
  • Company vacation — annual team break
  • Renovation — physical space improvements
  • Team events — training days, corporate retreats
  • Emergency — unexpected situations requiring temporary shutdown

Recurring Annual Closures

Toggle Recurring when creating a closure to have it repeat every year automatically:

  1. Create a closure (e.g., "Christmas", December 24—26)
  2. Enable the Recurring toggle
  3. Click Save

The system will block these dates every year without manual re-entry.

Tip: Review recurring closures at the start of each year. Some holidays fall on different dates annually (e.g., Easter).

Tip: If only one staff member needs a day off, use a schedule exception instead of a closure.

Customer Notification

When a closure is created:

  • Customers cannot select dates within the closure period on the booking portal
  • Those dates appear as unavailable in the calendar
  • No automatic notification is sent to customers — consider sending a manual announcement for major closures

Existing Bookings During a Closure

If bookings already exist for dates that become a closure:

  1. A warning appears listing affected bookings
  2. You must decide: reschedule or cancel each booking
  3. Affected customers receive a notification about the change

Tip: Create closures as early as possible to avoid conflicts with existing bookings.

Managing Closures

From the Closures list, you can:

  • Edit — change name, dates, or recurring setting
  • Delete — remove the closure, making those dates available again
  • View affected bookings — see which bookings overlap with the closure
