Slotsy uses a role-based access system to control what each team member can see and do in the admin panel.
Available Roles

| Owner | Company owner | Full access to everything |
| Admin | Administrator | Almost full access (cannot transfer ownership) |
| Manager | Booking manager | Bookings, customers, reports |
| Staff | Service provider | Own schedule, own bookings |
| Receptionist | Front desk | Create bookings only |
Role Details
Owner
The Owner has unrestricted access to the entire admin panel. There is exactly one Owner per company. The Owner can:
- Manage all settings, billing, and subscription
- Add, edit, or remove any staff member
- Transfer company ownership to another person
- Access all reports and analytics
- Delete the company account
Admin
Admins have nearly the same access as the Owner, with a few restrictions:
- Can manage staff, services, customers, and bookings
- Can view and export reports
- Cannot change billing or subscription settings
- Cannot transfer or delete the company
- Cannot change the Owner's role
Manager
Managers focus on day-to-day operations:
- Can create, edit, and cancel bookings for all staff
- Can manage customers (add, edit, view history)
- Can view reports and analytics
- Cannot manage staff members or roles
- Cannot change company settings or services
Staff
Staff members have limited access focused on their own work:
- Can view and manage their own schedule
- Can see their own bookings and customer details
- Can mark bookings as completed or no-show
- Cannot see other staff members' bookings
- Cannot access reports, settings, or customer management
Receptionist
Receptionists have the most limited access:
- Can create new bookings for any staff member
- Can search for existing customers
- Can view the daily calendar
- Cannot edit or cancel bookings
- Cannot access settings, reports, or staff management
Tip: Start with the most restrictive role and upgrade if needed. It is easier to grant more access than to remove it later.
Changing a Staff Member's Role
- Go to Staff in the sidebar
- Click on the staff member you want to update
- In the Role dropdown, select the new role
- Click Save
The change takes effect immediately. The staff member will see updated navigation and permissions on their next page load.
Tip: Notify the staff member before changing their role so they are not surprised by a different interface.
Transferring Ownership
Only the current Owner can transfer ownership:
- Go to Settings > Company
- Click Transfer Ownership
- Select the staff member who will become the new Owner
- Enter your password to confirm
- Click Transfer
After the transfer, your role will be changed to Admin automatically. This action cannot be undone without the new Owner's cooperation.
